PURPOSE: To consider appointments to the Commission for Women (CFW).
BACKGROUND: There are eight vacant seats on the Commission for Women.
Three recommendations have been submitted by the Membership Subcommittee for three of

The Orange County Commission for Women has reviewed all current applicants for
membership in the Commission for Women and recommends Khan C. Easwazachandran
for the Chapel Hill (06-30-OS) position.
Ms. Easwazachandran is a resident of Chapel Hill Township.,
The criteria for this position aze that the applicant be a resident of Orange County, show
an active interest in advocating for women, improving the quality oflife for women in
Orange County, and a willingness and ability to attend the Commission's meetings and
participate in its projects.
Tn addition, the Commission for Women is committed to increasing the diversity of
Commission members and committed to preserving a geographical balance of
representation whenever possible.
Ms. Easwarachandran's professional experience as Director of Client Services at the
Orange County Rape Crisis Center will bring valuable community contacts to our
Commission, Her degree in Social Work and Women's Studies and her extensive work
history show a commitment to advocating for women. She communicates well and will
undoubtedly be effective in our outreach programs and her educational background
attests to her research capabilities.,
