Work Experience:
My work experience began with surveying and then engineering at a sewage plant. I then
moved into forest resources and eventually into an academic position at two major
research universities, North Carolina State University and Texas A&M,
Volunteer Experience:
Having retired earlier in 2005, I am now seeking participation in municipal government.
My wife and I are outdoor enthusiasts and work with the Neuse River Foundation, the NC
Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh as well as stay involved in our neighborhood
association.
Education:
I have a masters and doctoral degree in forestry from Oklahoma State University with 30
years of teaching, research and practice.

(Texas A&M) and presently faculty at Duke University's Nicholas School of the
Environment, Far 20 years, I have worked in life sciences and natural resources
management, especially forests, My experience includes corporate research,
management followed by tenured academic research and teaching. My work has been
international as well as national in scope,

Fund-raising far Raleigh Friends Meeting house; Mediator training for dispute
resolution,Am active in the Chapel Hill Society of Friends, Neuse River Foundation and

My organizational skills, my family's interest and livelihood from real estate in MDOre
County, N.G., my family's location here in Chapel Hill (I graduated from Chapel Hill High
School in 1974) and my interest in maintaining affordable housing leads me to volunteer.
