moved into forest resources and eventually into an academic position at two major
research universities, North Carolina State University and Texas A&M,

20 years as corporate researcher for Weyerhaeuser Company, professor in forestry
(Texas A&M) and presently faculty at Duke University's Nicholas School of the
Environment. For 20 years, I have worked in life sciences and natural resources
management, especially forests. My experience includes corporate research,
management followed by tenured academic research and teaching. My work has been
international as well as national in scope,
Volunteer Experience:
Fund-raising for Raleigh Friends Meeting house; Mediator training for dispute
resolution,Am active in the Chapel Hill Society of Friends, Neuse River Foundation and
stabstitute teach at the Carolina Friends School. CROP walk, Sole Sisters' athletic
