PURPOSE: To consider making one new appointment to the Advisory Board on Aging.
BACKGROUND: There is one Hillsborough vacancy on the Advisory Board on Aging. The
appointee will be serving a first full term, which will end on 6/30/2008.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board consider making one new
appointment to the Advisory Board on Aging, as the Board may desire.

I believe my interest and experience in public service give me skills and ideas that may
be useful in working on aging issues. Our LWV in Dare County participated in the state
League's eldercare study in 1989. Our Town Council dealt with some of the problems
arising from needs for services to the elderly, and living at Carol Woods for the past
seven years has given me some background and insights into the issues facing the State
and the County with respect to an increasing papulaticn of older adults. I believe I have
