IV. Executive Committee-Jenn Sykes (4:02-4:05pm)
a. Statewide training on February 22nd
b. Marker Unveiling in Carrboro February 18tn
c. Sign up sheet for PM Awards — Michael to discuss HRC volunteers and when/how we should
volunteer with a view toward volunteering in roles which enhance community connection as
opposed to the mechanics of the event.
V. County Updates-Shameka Fairbanks (4:05-4:07)
a. Shameka discussed the events she drew our attention to by email.
b. Pauli Murray nominations are small, and it is up to the subcommittee if they want to repurpose the
nominations from last year. If modifications want to be made to award requirements for next year,that
can be done after this round to make it more inclusive.
VI. HRC Events Report-(4:33-4:48)
a.Met and began planning of the subcommittees during the retreat. Reports from subcommittees will be
forthcoming once they have had a chance to meet. Here are the current subcommittees:
i. Outreach and Engagement:
1. LGBTQ: Brooke,Jemm
2. Hispanic Community: Lynn, Rhian, Ruby
3. Black Community: Rhian
4. Youth and Schools: Rhian, Brooke
5. Proclamation: Brooke,Josh
ii. Policy and Procedures:Josh, Lynn, Anjail
iii. Community Events:
