Please explain how your background, education and experience is relevant to this board
I currently volunteer at Paws4Ever in Mebane. I do not have a formal background in Animal
Services. I do understand however how a Board works, the logical order of a business (whether
for profit or non profit) and a great love of animals.
Please explain your reasons for wanting to serve on this board
I would like to make a difference as well as learn.
How would your particpation on this board contribute to the diversity of viewpoints?
That would depend on the current makeup of the board. I see from the website there is a Vet; a
member of the Town of Chapel Hill and a member from another municipality.
Do you have any personal or business interest(s) that could create a conflict of interest
(either real or perceived) if you are appointed to this board?
Possibly? I volunteer transport for Paws4Ever in Mebane.

Affordable Housing Advisory Board
Application Date: 1/23/2023
Background, education and experience relevant to this board:
I was employed for 25 years in the Multifamily industry. I am very familiar with the lack of
Affordable housing in both the rental and now the Housing Market. (I have been a Realtor for the
past two years).
Reasons for wanting to serve on this board:
There is not affordable housing for persons who need it. I am in a unique position of having a
background in both the rental and sales arena.
Conflict of Interest:
I'm not sure? I don t believe being a Realtor or a volunteer in the Multi Family arena would be a
conflict of interest.

Animal Services Advisory Board
Please explain how your background, education and experience is relevant to this board
I am a long time animal lover and have been a vegetarian for 12 years. I have 2 rescue dogs of
my own and also volunteer with a fostering program that benefits a rural NC shelter. Animal
advocacy is important to me and I feel strongly about getting more involved to learn about other
ways I can support a cause close to my heart. I received my B.A. in Psychology from UNC-
Chapel Hill in 2016 and my Master s of Education in School Counseling 2017. 1 currently work
as a school counselor in a low-income school, a job requiring advocacy, compassion, and
teamwork on a daily basis.
Please explain your reasons for wanting to serve on this board
During the COVID pandemic, I used my quarantine time to connect more with nature and my
environment. I went for daily walks in county parks and seeing baby deer, frogs, dogs, birds,
and other beautiful natural creates would always make my day. I took on fostering 3 4 week old
puppies (giving me a total of 5 dogs in my house!) and absolutely loved it, despite the hard
work. Seeing them find homes and grow up happy and healthy after their tough start to life gave
me a new appreciation for animal advocacy. I know there is more I can do to help the animals

we share our neighborhood with and I m willing to donate the time and energy necessary to
represent their needs on a policy level.
How would your particpation on this board contribute to the diversity of viewpoints?
I have experience living in the mid-west and North Carolina in both rural and urban
environments. I grew up in a religiously-blended household, so I m very comfortable being
around a diverse array of viewpoints. I completed Cultural Competency Training through the
American School Counselor Association, making me a certified cultural competency specialist.
The school I work at is very diverse in terms of employees and student body, which I have a
great appreciation for and sought out when looking for jobs.
Do you have any personal or business interest(s)that could create a conflict of interest
(either real or perceived) if you are appointed to this board?
