This special session was called for the purpose of an inspection tour in conjunction with
Associated Surveys, as this company is now in the process of conducting a re-evaluation program in
Orange County.
Prior to hearing from Associated Surveys, Chairman Stanford reported that the Durham-Orange
Medical Society had formally recommended-to him the name of Dr. Hubert Patterson as a candidate for
Orange County medical examiner. The Board agreed that they would formally approve the nomination of
Dr. Patterson at their next regular meeting on February 3, 196h. Chairman Stanford directed the clerk
to inform State Health Director, Dr. J. W. R. Norton of the intentions of the Board to take formal
action on this appointment.
W. F. Hester of Associated Surveys reported the progress his company was making on the
re-appraisal work in the county. The Board began an inspection tour of some of the areas in which
the re-appraisal work had been completed. The Board voiced general approval of the results of this
work, but withheld final approval pending additional inspections of other properties.
The Board directed the Tax Supervisor to arrange another tour for sometime after February,
