BACKGROUND: The Chapel Hill Parks, Greenways, and Recreation Commission promotes recreation for the residents of Chapel Hill. The Commission serves as the recreation policy advisory body for the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Town. It consults with and advises the Town Council on matters affecting the overall recreational policies of the Town, the acquisition and use of lands and properties related to the total community recreation program, and its long-range projected programs for recreation, parks, and playgrounds. The Board of County Commissioners appoints one (1) Orange County resident.
