AMENDMENT TO GRANT AGREEMENT
Whereas, the Orange County entered into Grant Contract # 17-074-4038 (ADFP Tracking
Number ADM-ADFP-16-015) with the Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation
Trust Fund of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services
(Department) on October 1, 2016 for the creation and oversight of the Orange County CROP
Fund; and
Whereas, that agreement provided that Orange County would retain ownership of the fund
and maintain the fund in good working order for a period of at least five years from the date of
creation, along with providing yearly monitoring reports ; and
Whereas, the Orange County has requested to be relieved of those obligations; and
Whereas, the Orange County has performed its financial obligations under the above-referenced
Grant Agreement; and
Whereas, the Orange County has made the current status of the CROP fund available for
review at a mutually agreed-upon time and place, and has submitted one comprehensive
monitoring report for the years 2020 -2022;
Now, Therefore, in consideration of their mutual promises, the parties hereby agree to
amend the Grant Agreement as follows:
1. Orange County hereby transfers to the Piedmont Food Processing Center
(PFPC) any and all ownership interest which it has in the CROP fund.
2. The Department hereby accepts the transfer of the CROP fund, and Orange
County is relieved of its responsibility under the Grant Agreement to own and
maintain the CROP fund.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have executed this amendment through their authorized
representatives this, 21st day of June, 2023.
