PURPOSE: The attached recommendation is being presented to the Board of Commissioners
for its consideration.
BACKGROUND: The Orange Community Housing and Land Trust(OCHLT) is a non-profit
developer of affordable housing founded in 1990. OCHLT is funded by Orange County and the
Towns of Chapel Hill, Cantos, and Hillsborough. Its mission is to provide affordable housing
for both rental and homeownership. It has requested that the County Commissioners consider
appointing Wayne Kuncl to this Board as the County's Public Representative. He served on the
Board of Directors for OCHO (Orange County Housing Corporation)before serving this past
year on the interim OCHLT Board.
