New member Arlyn introduced himself, and other members and staff also introduced themselves. 6:05 PM Approval of March Minutes A motion was made to approve April meeting minutes [Sykes, Murdicj- Doherty]. All in favor, none opposed 6:10 PM Updates from Members The AHAB held a community affordable housing meeting at the Cedar Grove Community Center - residents in the northern part of the County are concerned about gentrification and racial equity. Blake will incorporate board feedback into a revised draft that board members can vote to approve at the June OCHA meeting. Member Murdock: Perhaps expand "racial equity" of mission statement should be expanded to be more encompassing, such as "all protected classes under FH and ADA laws" 7:00 PM For Discussion: Proposed August Housing/HCV Event for clients and community • In place of August Meeting? • What Info and Materials would you like to include? -Educational/Financial Literacy partners are receiving HOME funds and could join -Emila did one at the OCDSS Office at Mayo St. in 2019 -Member Mahood likes idea of in place of Aug. Would mean higher turnout with more diversity -Also more organizational capacity in place, not starting from scratch -Member Murdock-Dohert: it depends on what we want even to be about, whether just HCV-focused, just supporting client with food and a good time, or whether we want it to be more outreach/educational...
