RE: Comprehensive Land Use Plan — Consultant Contract Amendment
The purpose of this Information Item is to notify the Board of a forthcoming
Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) contract amendment to include additional
meetings between the BOCC and consultant, Clarion Associates, LLC.
At its May 16, 2023 meeting, the BOCC received a presentation from staff and
discussed aspects of the consultant's deliverables prior to approving the contract. In
response to comments received, Planning staff has begun discussions with Clarion's
Project Manager to identify the best times during the planning process to incorporate
the additional meetings. More specifically, these meetings will be scheduled as work
sessions to be held separately from the Board's regularly scheduled meetings and
timed to coincide with the outreach windows offered through the existing contract.
The CLUP project kick-off will take place during the third week of July and will begin
with stakeholder interviews to include members of the BOCC and Planning Board,
among others. Planning staff and Consultant will work towards placing the contract
amendment on the September 5, 2023 BOCC agenda for consideration on consent.
