RESOLUTION APPROVING LEASES FOR MOBILE CLASSROOM UNITS
FOR 2023 -24 SCHOOL YEAR
WHEREAS , the Orange County Board of Education wishes to enter into leases for
mobile classroom units to be installed at Efland - Cheeks Global Elementary School during
the 2023 -24 school year pursuant to G . S . 115C - 530 ;
WHEREAS , one or more of the leases of mobile classroom units will have a lease
term that is in excess of three years ; and
WHEREAS , the leases may require the Orange County Board of Education to use
capital outlay funds provided by the Orange County Board of Commissioner to pay the
lease payments ;
WHEREAS , the leases may be continuing contracts for capital outlay subject to
the provisions of N . C . Gen . Stat . § 115C -441 ( c1 ) and § 115C - 530 , including the approval
of the Orange County Board of Commissioners ; and
WHEREAS , the Orange County Board of Education shall be responsible for

allocating sufficient funds from the capital outlay funds provided by the Orange County
Board of Commissioners to make the lease payments for any mobile classroom units
leased pursuant to this resolution .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED , that the Orange County Board
of Commissioners consents to the Orange County Board of Education entering into
leases for mobile classroom units with terms that exceed three years during the 2023 - 24
school year .
Resolved , this 6th day of June , 2023 by the Orange County Board of
Commissioners .
