BACKGROUND: The Economic Development Advisory Board works cohesively with the County's Economic Development staff and other economic development partners to position Orange County as a competitive location for business opportunities. The Board of County Commissioners appoints all ten (10) members, with representation from various fields. Our advisory board's Guidelines include a provision for a member who has completed their two regular terms to serve a final 1 year of service to the County, if authorized by the Board of Commissioners. Sharon Hill offers tremendous enthusiasm, leadership and vision to help guide Economic Development's advisory board services. She is an extremely valuable and knowledgeable member of the advisory board's subcommittee that helps department staff manage the County's Small Business Grant program. In addition,her business knowledge and marketing acumen assist our Department in a variety of support functions,to include contributing productive ways to enhance the County's outreach to small businesses, collaborate with our local economic development partners, and promote diversity and inclusion outreach to our women and minority- owned small businesses.
