PURPOSE: To consider adding two meetings to the regular meeting calendar and changing
the beginning time for another meeting.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Caroline General Statute I5 A- ,the Board of County
Commissioners mist fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in
the Regular Meeting Schedule. A meeting will he held on May 16, 2002 from 4:00 p.m.to 8:00
p.m. at the Southern Human Services Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina (Water Summit)and
a meeting will be held on June 6, 2002 at 5:30 p.m. at the Government Sarvir as Center with the
Orange County Planning Board prior to the budget public hearing at 7:30 p.m. The meeting
scheduled for May 13, 2002 will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Note: The May 23, 2002 meeting on the regular calendar will be for the presentation of the
Managers recommended 2002-2003 budget followed by a Board of County Commissioners
work session.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board amend their regular
meeting calendar by adding meetings for May 16 and June 6, 2002 and changing the beginning
time forthe meeting scheduled for May 13,2002 to 6:00 p.m.
