PURPOSE: To consider appointing a County Commissioner or other At-Large representative to
serve on the Town of Hillsborcugh's 250th Anniversary Committee.
BACKGROUND: The Town of Hillsborough is starting plans to celebrate its 250`h anniversary
later this year and the Town Commissioners are inviting local groups and organizations who are
interested in having a representative on Hillsborough's 250`h Anniversary Committee, to appoint
an individual to serve on this Committee.
Groups that are receiving invitations include Orange County, Orange County School System,
Alliance for Historic Hillsborough member organizations, Tourism Board, Occaneechi-Saponi
Tribal Association, Merchant Groups, The News of Orange, the Chapel Hill Herald, and other
interested members of the community.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends that the Board appoint one of its
members, or an appropriate representative, to serve on the Town of Hillsborough's 250th
Anniversary Committee.

year, The Town's Board of Commissioners are inviting local groups and organizations,
who are interested in having a representative on Hillsborough's 250°i Anniversary
Committee, to appoint an individual to serve on the Committee. Groups that are
receiving invitations include Orange County, Orange County School System, Alliance for
Historic Hillsborough member organizations, Tourism Board, Occaneechi-Saponi Tribal

members of the community that may be interested.
The Town welcomes a representative from your organization to serve with Town
Commissioners Evelyn Lloyd and Brian Lowen on this Committee. If you wish to make
an appointment or know a citizen who would like to serve as an At-large member, please
contact Town Clerk Donna Annbrister (732-1270 x71) no later than February 27`h.
