PURPOSE: To receive a presentation on Triangle Transit Authority's newly adapted regional bus
service standards,
BACKGROUND: Triangle Transit Authority Board of Trustees, on September 24, 2003, adopted
regional bus service standards. The Administration forwarded a staff report with a copy of "Triangle
Transit Authority Regional Bus Service Standards" to the Board of County Commissioners in
November 2003.
The TTA Board and TTA General Manager have set a goal of achieving a 25% recovery ratio far
the TTA system by July 2006, In order to achieve that goal, TTA will monitor the performance of
TTA services by tracking well-defined performance indicators to determine when service is
performing adequately or inadequately, and to identify ways to improve productivity.
.lohn Claflin, TTA General Manager, will present, and answer questions regarding, the newly
adopted standards for regional bus service.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with this item.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive the presentation on
TTA's newly adopted regional bus service standards and provide comments and questions as
desired.
