It also implements marketing programs that will enhance the economic activity and quality of life in the community. The Board of County Commissioners appoints all 17 members, with representation from specific entities and fields. I am personally concerned about unplanned, unchecked growth rather than well managed development and preservation. Transportation planning involves expensive decisions years in the future with consequences lasting decades after that. It involves often brutal prioritization to help the BOCC and County staff guide the county s future through complex issues with implications far beyond bikes, buses, and roads.
