PURPOSE: To review and approve the Rules of Procedure for the Board of County
Commissioners.
BACKGROUND: The Rules of Procedure by which the County Commissioners operate were
approved on June 5, 1995. Since that time, changes have been made by the legislature and
changes have been made by the Orange County Board of County Commissioners in some of
the rules of procedure for Board meetings. A task force including Commissioner Alice Gordon
and Clerk to the Board Beverly Blythe has reviewed these Rules of Procedure and has made
significant revisions to incorporate the changes which have been made over the last five years.
County Attorney Geof Gledhill has reviewed these Rules of Procedures for accuracy and
compliance with the General Statutes.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board discuss and make any
amendments to the Rules of Procedure as the Board desires, and approve them.
