PURPOSE: To consider adding three meetings to the regular meeting calendar and canceling
one meeting.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County
Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in
the Regular Meeting Schedule. A meeting will be held on May 2, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. at the
Friday Center on Friday Center Drive, UNC-Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Two
meetings will be added to the calendar for Thursday, April 18, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. and April 19,
2002 at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of holding a closed session "to consider the qualifications,
competence, character, fitness, conditions of appointment, or conditions of initial employment of
an individual public officer or employee or prospective public officer or employee" NCGS § 143-
318.11(a)(6). These two meetings will be held at the Government Services Center in
Hillsborough, North Carolina. The meeting scheduled for April 4th has been canceled.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommenas that the Board amend their regular
meeting calendar by adding meetings for May 2, April 17 and April 18, 2002 and canceling the
meeting scheduled for April 4, 2002.
