The State Division of Emergency Management has provided non-coastal
communities and counties draft model ordinances. The draft model
ordinance with Orange County revisions was presented to the Board at its
May 2QQ5 Quarterly Public Hearing, The Board referred the proposed
ordinance to the Planning Board for review and comment,
To ensure consistency between the other county land development
regulations and the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance, certain
suggested revisions to the zoning, subdivision and private road standards
are proposed, Zoning Ordinance language revisions in Sections 8.8
Regulations Governing Individual Special Uses, 14.2.3 (r) Specifications
for Plan Preparation, Subdivision language Section III-D-3-b Planning
Department Review Procedures, Section IV-B-2-a Flood-Prone Areas, and
Private Road Standards are suggested.
Staff is looking for direction on this zoning and subdivision issue.
