PURPOSE: To consider two changes in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar
for year 2002.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County
Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in
the Regular Meeting Schedule. The beginning time for the April 3rd meeting will be changed
from 7:30 to 6:30 p.m. A special meeting will be scheduled for April 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the
Government Services Center in Hillsborough for the purpose of holding a closed session "to
consider the qualifications, competence, character, fitness, conditions of appointment, or
conditions of initial employment of an individual public officer or employee or prospective public
officer or employee" NCGS § 143-318.11(a)(6).
FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board amend their regular
meeting calendar by changing the beginning time of the April 3`d meeting to 6:30 and to
schedule a special meeting for April 4" at 7:30 p.m. at the Government Services Center in
Hillsborough for the purpose of holding a closed session "to consider the qualifications,
competence, character, fitness, conditions of appointment, or conditions of initial employment of
an individual public officer or employee or prospective public officer or employee" NCGS § 143-
318.11(a)(6).
