Two positions are for Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) residents and one is for a resident of the Joint Planning Area (JPA). Ms. Julie Raimondi Coleman at this time is interested in serving a second term on the Chapel Hill Planning Board in an ETJ position. Her first term expired on 6/30/2003, and, at that time, she wrote that she would be out of the state for several months and that the BOCC should fill her position. Since no one has been found to replace her, staff contacted her recently and she expressed interest in being reappointed. Also, the second three-year term of Mr. H. Coleman Day, Vice-Chair, ETJ position, expired 6/30/03. Mr. Day has continued to serve in his position until a replacement is appointed. Advertising has been done with only one eligible application received, i.e., Mr. Peter Strongoli, 302 Azalea Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27517, an ETJ resident. If the BOCC wishes for Mr. Day to continue to serve, the Chapel Hill Town Clerk's office has requested a memo or letter indicating same. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making appointments to the Chapel Hill Planning Board as the BOCC may desire. `(~J';! • C/] o .~ a (TT~\/ b V x U R ti F O o E C C ~ 6 h V ~ '9 ~ >~ U O C a o H o n o ,- ~ ~ o r N ~ N Eo, V h ~ py ~ T O T O ~ `v a. a 0 o ~+ o ti C O m .C „`o 0.. Collene Rogers application is from 2002, so you may wan to inquire if she is still interested at this time. David Clinton's application is from earlier this year. Currently, Suzanne Haff was just appointed (3-6-02) with an expiration of 6-30-05. As per our conversation this morning, the Orange County pblic is to a ow ber to continue to serve in a pose ion un i e vacancy is filled. H. Coleman Day has serve erms, w~ ~s mos re files to rey fleet this information, unless you contact me to let me that I have misunderstood. There is still a third position that is currently vacant., Please let me know of any change in the status listed above.. Thank you for your help in this matter, «David Clinton.PDF» «Collene Rogers.PDF» Amy Harvey Assistant Clerk Town of Chapel HiII 306 N. However, the Regulations for the Planning Board, found in their handbook says that the Council "encourages the limitation of a member's service to no more than two consecutive full terms". be to draft a short memo from the our our memo to me and 1 will get i There are still two ETJ seats, one was not eliminated. It was proposed / in 2001 when the Planning Dept. started rewriting our Development , Ordinance (now called Land Use Management Ordinance or LUMO), but the change was not written into the newly adopted LUMO, so the board make-up remains the same,. I hope this takes care of all of your questions. Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.
