There being no further business to come before the Board this meeting was
adjourned with the Commissioners having to meet again on Tuesday, May 291h, at 11
o'clock a.m. for the purpose of canvasing the votes cast in the Special Election for
Supplemental Tax in the Chapel Hill School District.

may 29, 1962
The Orange County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, May 29, 1962, at 10:30
o'clock a.m. for the purpose of canvassing the votes cast in the Special Election
for Supplental Tax in the Chapel Hill School District. Said election being held
on Saturday, May 26, 1962.
Members present: Chairman Donald Stanford, Co=mmissioners Clarence Jones,
Donald McDade and Henry Walker.
Members absent: Commissioner Harvey Bennett.
The canvas revealed the following results by precincts.
ABSTRACT OF VOTES CAST AT A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR SUPPLEMENTAL TAX IN THE CHAPEL HILL
SCHOOL DISTRICT, HELD ON SATURDAY, MAY 26, 1962, AT THE PLACES APPOINTED BY LAW FOR
HOLDING ELECTIONS IN SAID DISTRICT.

No citizen appeared to protest the results of or any aspect of this election.
As all expenses for the special election were incurred in the name of the
County Attorney the Chairman of the Board directed t he County Accountant to pay the
following bills and send a statement of accounts due to the Chapel Hill City Board
of Education.

Registrar's of the ten (10) precincts $15.00 e ach to pay
