Mr. Williams:
At your request we offer this proposal for engineering services for the mitigation of drainage
issues located at the Walnut Grove Recycling Center and the Orange County Regional Landfill Facility on
Eubanks Road in Chapel Hill, NC. This proposal outlines our understanding of the project scope, tasks to
be completed, assumptions underlying our fee proposal, and fees for various project tasks.
I. PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project consists of preparation of engineered drawings and specifications to resolve drainage
issues at the two locations listed above. The purpose of this project is to determine of the most
economical and practical way to alleviate ponding of water and its associated issues to prevent damage
to existing structures, establish firm ground to prevent slipping while walking or driving in these areas.
II. SCOPE OF SERVICES
Draper Aden Associates will survey the areas for topography, provide a design to establish proper
drainage, aid the County in selecting an appropriate contractor for each site, review shop drawings and
submittals for soil fabric, fill material and any required appurtenances, oversee the work after completion
and provide certification that the work has been completed as designed and agreed upon.

IV. DELIVERABLES
Our deliverable documents to you will be in the form of electronic or plotted versions of
AUTOCAD drawings and specifications in Word format. We assume that we will provide one such set of
documents per design team review or submittal to owner, and one final such set of documents for use as
project construction documents. A final certification of the designed work will be provided after the work
is completed to satisfaction of the Engineer.
V. ASSUMPTIONS
Our service includes reasonable and appropriate response to review comments made by the
Owner.
County will solicit for contractor pricing through an informal bid process and not formally bid
these projects.
No permits will be required to be obtained or modified for this work.
Cost estimating and special inspections are excluded from this proposal.
