PURPOSE: To discuss the number of Commissioners' assignments on the Family Success
Alliance (FSA) Advisory Council.
BACKGROUND: At the March 16, 2021 Business Meeting, Commissioner Jamezetta Bedford
petitioned the Board to review the number of Commissioner Liaisons to the FSA Advisory Council.
It was also mentioned there are no liaisons to the Affordable Housing Advisory Board.
There are two Commissioner Liaison positions on the FSA Advisory Council, currently filled by
Commissioner Bedford and Commissioner Sally Greene, who will both serve until December
2021 .
FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with this item.
SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is applicable to
this item:
• GOAL: ENABLE FULL CIVIC PARTICIPATION
Ensure that Orange County residents are able to engage government through voting and
volunteering by eliminating disparities in participation and barriers to participation.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: There is no Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal impact
associated with this discussion.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board discuss the Commissioner
Liaison assignments on the FSA Advisory Council.
