PURPOSE: To receive the foal report and rammmentlations fromthe Library Servicee Taak
Farce.
BACKGROUND: In June 2000, the BOCC aeatetl the Library Servicee Task Force to stutly
Ilbrery services in the County and prepare a plan far Orenge County libraries by November
2001. Cpmmieaipner Bany Jaosbs serves as Cheirfor this Task Foms.
A group of approzimelely 74 people comprised of township repreaenrstives, fdentls' groups,
eledetl ott~cials, Chapel Hill antl Orange County library staff members began meeting in
October 2000 antl met monthly Mrough September 2001.
The resu6s of these meetings are presented a[ this time ea the final report in oNer to obtain
comments from members of the BOaN.

RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommentls that the BoaN receive the Mel report
and recommendations.
