BACKGROUND: This track will be utilized in wnjuncticn with the sacn to he Implementetl electronics
recycling program, the governmental building recycling program that Is being wnsolitlatetl antler the
Solid Waste Management Department, end the tlry cell battery recycling progrem. It may also be utilize

County staff tlevelopetl the vehlGe epec'rfica[ions that met the nestle c8etl by the Solitl Waste
Department. The bitl was atlvertisetl on the County webaee antl was also solidted from sizlean vendor
Four bidtlere respontletl. Following evaluation of the bids by Ne Purchasing end Solld Waste
Department staff, it was tleteimined that Volvo 8 GMC Track Center of Charlotte, NoM Carolina
submittetl the lowest respgnelble bitl that was respgnsive. Their[mck will be delivered from stock a[ a
net delivered wet of $31,649.00.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Total wst of [hla action, if approve] by the eoerq would be $31,649.00.
SuRCienHUntla are allocated in the Solitl Waste/Lendfll Operatlons FY 2001/02 operating budget.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager rewmmends that [he BoaN awartl the bid to Volvo &GMC
Truck Center of Chatlotte, North Carolina in fhe amount of $31,fi49.00: and authorize the Pumhasing
Director to execute the necesaery paperwork
