AMENDMENT TO SERVICES AGREEMENT
NORTH CAROLINA
THIS AMENDMENT, made and entered into this the 10th day of Aug, 2020, by and between the County of
Orange, a body politic and corporate of the State of North Carolina, (“County”), and Eva Bauer
(“Provider”);
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the County and Provider entered into a Services Agreement dated,5/11/20, to provide services to be
rendered by Provider to County (“Original Agreement”); and
WHEREAS, the County and Provider desire to amend the Original Agreement, while keeping in effect all terms
and conditions of the Original Agreement not inconsistent with the terms and conditions set forth below.
NOW THEREFORE, for and in consideration for the mutual covenants and agreements made herei n, the parties
agree to amend the Original Agreement as follows:
There will be an extension in the internship , as per attached note .
Except for the changes made N/A herein, the Original Agreement shall remain in full force and effect to the extent
it is not inconsistent with this Amendment. In the event that there is a conflict between the Original Agreement and
this Amendment, this Amendment shall control.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, Orange County and the Consultant have signed this Amendment, effective this
the 10th day of Aug , 2020.

Communications Internship extension
PROGRAM: Communications
TIME PERIOD: August 10 – September 11, 2020
TOTAL 40 hours
HOURLY RATE: $15.00
DESCRIPTION OF INTERNSHIP:
The Communication Intern will assist with specific projects or assignments, designed to
further the mission of the Orange County Department on Aging (OCDoA) to foster the well-
being and engagement of older adults at all levels of ability and support the Orange County
Master Aging Plan. The intern will work directly with, and receive guidance and mentorship
from, Beverly Shuford, OCDoA Communications Coordinator.
EXPECTED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Intern will participate in the special projects or assignments as outlined below. All
projects are meant to increase the accessibility of information regarding available programs,
services, and resources (Objective 8.1).
Specific Projects and Assignments:
1. Senior Times: Assist with developing processes to streamline the Senior Times
production process. Conduct Senior Times improvement workgroup to refine the
table of content, organization and content resulting in increased engagement and
user-friendliness. (Strategy 8.1.3) Improve the Senior Times to be more readable
and user-friendly.
2. Welcome Packet: Continue work to develop a welcome packet which is distributed
to new members of both senior centers and posted on the OCDoA website. New
participants would receive information about programs offered, opportunities to
volunteer, and support that is available to them. This tool will facilitate better
participant engagement with the variety of activities available at OCDoA. Process
would include determining what information is important to include in welcome
packet, researching topics to create infographics for, obtaining supplies to create
welcome packets, and assembling agreed upon number of welcome packets.
3. Evergreen Content: Review OCDoA resources and identify evergreen topics for
promotion. Aggregate topics into a catalog of “evergreen topics”, and create a folder
where topics and resources can be found. Share evergreen topics with Todd for
promotion. Prioritize and schedule posts to increase community outreach and
awareness.

4. Manage OCDoA Facebook Page: Post department and community information and
resources. Schedule event posts. Monitor comments from followers and respond in
a timely and accurate manner
5. Assist Communications Coordinator: Assist with additional communications tasks as
assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Qualifications:
Minimum of pursuit of bachelors or master’s degree in Communications, Public
Health, English, Journalism, Public Relations, or Marketing
Preferred qualifications include experience in communications, journalism, public
relations, or marketing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic graphic design understanding
Strong research and interview skills
Strong understanding of social media
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Excellent organizational abilities and skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Creativity and the ability to work independently
Skill and ability to work with older adults, volunteers, and staff
Physical Requirements:
o Internships pose no special physical requirements, and the Department on Aging
encourages people with diverse abilities to apply.
