PURPOSE: To consider an appointment to the Orange County Board of Adjustment.
BACKGROUND: This seven-member board has an At-Large-Alternate vacancy. There are two
applicants for the position.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consid~;r making an appointment to the Orange County Board of
Adjustment to an At-Large - Alternate seat for athree-year term which would expire June 30,
2006, as the Board may decide.

Durham 27707. OTHER CON'IMENTS: Even though I don't have formal legal
training, I am aware of and have ~~ good understanding of the legal aspects of BOA
activities. During my previous work with the board, I always tried to act in a logical,
balanced, and consistent manner in order to be fair to applicants and citizens, but also to
minimize potential for legal challenges that would consume County resources and
