BACKGROUND: Residents of Hamecon Place (6 homes) and Porteur Point (5 homes) have petitioned the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to accept maintenance responsibilities. Both roads are loca~~:ed in Bellechene East subdivision off the east side of Eno Cemetery Road, Cedar Grove Township. The Board approved the preliminary plat for Bellechene East subdivision in August 1992. NCDOT has investigated this request (please refer to attached Secondary Road Addition Reports) and has submitted the petition to the Board of Commissioners for its review and approval. The Board must take an administrative action to approve the petition to NCDOT in order for NCDOT to accept Hamecon Place and Porteur P~~int into the State Maintenance Program. FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct financial impact associated with this decision item.
