BACKGROUND: Realtlenb of Mill Pointe Subtlivisbn have petitioned the NoM Carolina Department of Tmneportalion (NCDOT) tc accept maintenance responaibil0iae far Pine0eld Court (8 homes), Thistledown Court (6 homes), antl a 0.13-mile segment of East Mill Pointe Lane. Mill Pointe subtlivision is locatetl ofr Mill Greek Roetl in Cedar Grove antl Cheeks Townships. East Mill Pointe Lene is the major access roatl for phases 3 -] of the subdivision located on the east side of Mill Creek Road. Currently Urere is only one (1) home on Eeal Mill Pointe Lane, but R provitles access fo Mill Creek Roetl for 21 homes in the subtlivision. The Orange County BoaN of County Commissioners in August 199] approvetl the preliminary plan for phases-3 - 7 with public roatls. Pinefeltl Court, Thlstletlown Court end the aubled portion of East Mill Pointe Lene were recometl in Phase 3 of the subtlivision in June 1998. NCCOT has investigated this request (see atlached Semntlary Roetl Atltlition Report) end has submitted the pettion to the Boats of Commissionere far their review antl approval.
