BACKGROUND: On October 22, the Boartl received a presentation on the status of the Chapel Hill Township Park antl Etlurationel Campus project. A[ the conWUaion of discussion, staff was insimcted to develop a set of pmposetl recommentla[ions canslstent with the eoaM's tliscusaion. Stag was also asked to prepare summaries of meetings antl activities to tlete. The recommendations and addNOnal information are provided in the ettachetl memorandum. Attachment 2 Meeting with Cnrboro Board of Aldermen Representatives August 16, 2001 • ERC Director David Stannil provided n statue report on activity, including vcquiaitwn, posting of tfie propmty and an existing mural £evtures map. An offer to tour the property was extended. General concepts for tho site design were presented (general loretiens for school [acilitiea, general ICCation6 for park facilities, entrance roads), and ideas on the Suture process far site design were briefly outlined. • The potential foz codocatiop of other Facilities was mentioned by Carrboro. Town xepresentativee eaprsased interest in a pvb4c works facility at the site. County officials suggested the Town provide additioml details regarding this request. The potential conwtor road was briefly discussed, as was a potential for a community gym at the site. The Town representatives expressed general interest in mainteiving antl programming the p¢rk facility, once it was developed.
