RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION
FOR
COMMISSIONER MARK DOROSIN
WHEREAS, the residents of Orange County first elected Mark Dorosin to the Board of County
Commissioners in 2012 , and re - elected him in 2016 and in 20200 and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Mark Dorosin has served the residents of Orange County regardless of
geographic location faithfully and with honor, integrity, and distinction for the past nine years ; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Dorosin has taken special interest in addressing social justice and
community engagement, focusing on poverty, affordable housing, education equity, racial and socio -
economic inclusion, and broad -based resident participation in county government; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Dorosin was a vocal advocate for the rights and well - being of the residents
of the Historic Rogers Road Neighborhood, voting to close the county landfill, to provide water and
sewer to the neighborhood and to build a new community centers and
WHEREAS, during his tenure as an Orange County Commissioner, Mark Dorosin has served on many
boards and commissions, including the Orange County Local Government Affordable Housing
Collaborative, the Justice Advisory Council, the Durham Technical Community College Board of
Trustees, Healthy Carolinians , the Chatham Orange Joint Planning Task Force, the Legislative Issues
Work Group, the ABC Board, the Intergovernmental Parks Work Group , and the Fire Chiefs
Association; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Mark Dorosin served as Chair of the Orange County Board of County
Commissioners in 2016 and 2017, following his service as Vice Chair in 2015 ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orange County Board of Commissioners officially
commends Commissioner Mark Dorosin for his hard work, dedication and exemplary service to the
people of Orange County, and wishes him and his family the very best in their future endeavors ; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution of commendation be presented to Commissioner
Mark Dorosin and that the Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting.
