The CFE will break out into committee assignments and discuss goals/projects for the year.

Staff and/or CFE members will provide updates on the following items:

I. Call to Order
Kim Piracci called the meeting to order at 7:34 pm.
II. Approval of DRAFT Minutes from March 81h, 2021
Motion by Kim Livingston; seconded by Jaya Nair; none opposed; motion passed.
III. Additions or Changes to Agenda
None.
IV. CFE Activities- 2021
CFE discussed current activities with a brief status update for each item.
V. CFE Introductions & Committee Discussion
CFE members and staff gave brief introductions to acclimate new members Kristie
Mather, Veronica Beattie and Ulrich Hartmond. Staff discussed organization of
Committee break out groups (Air& Energy Resources/Water Resources/Land
Resources) and asked new members to be thinking about which group they would like
join.
VI. Presentation by Kyra Levau, Orange County Recycling Education & Outreach
Coordinator
Kyra Levau, Orange County Recycling Education& Outreach Coordinator presented to
the CFE on the overall Orange County Solid Waste system. Her presentation included a
program history, information on the Commercial/Residential Food Waste Collection
Programs and the Composting 101 Workshop. She discussed the role of volunteers at
compost collection sites and answers questions raised by members of the CFE.
VII. DRAFT Resolution to Support Eno-New Hope Landscape Conservation Plan
Kim Livingston gave a brief overview of the DRAFT Resolution to Support the Eno-New
Hope Landscape Conservation Plan. She clarified that this was just for CFE support and

that she planned to educate the BOCC prior to their consideration. Motion to sign/
support by Bradley Saul; seconded by Frank Binkowski; none opposed; motion passed.
VIII. Updates and Information Items
- Wesley Poole informed the CFE that Earth Day was coming up on April 22, 2021. He
stated that COVID restrictions will prevent Earth Evening from occurring again this year,
so DEAPR will be sharing links on their website throughout the day to celebrate. He
encouraged CFE members to send him links that they would like to share.
- Wesley Poole informed the CFE that a representative for the Intergovernmental Parks
Work Group was needed and Kim Piracci volunteered.
IX. Adjournment
Bradley Saul motioned to adjourn the meeting at 9:04 pm; seconded by Kristie Mather;
none opposed; motion passed.
