BACKGROUND: The Lantlfi11 2 0 0112 0 0 2 operating budget calls far the pumhasea new HOOk-Lift Tmck. This unit shall be used to service the county antl municipal recycling dropog centers for magazines, mixed paper, and plasfidmetel containers. Curtently, only one such track is available tc provitle regularly schetluletl service to these ten dropuff low[ions, with overflow occurring perbdically, particularly tludng holidays. Additionally, the Canboro Pleze site is schetluletl to open this winter that will further burden the County's alreatly ovetloatletl tlrop-site service capabiltty. Although fhe engine is larger antl heavier than the others, it provitles the same horsepower ffi much bwer RPMS, thereby significantly reducing the amount of particulate air pollutants produced by the vehicle.
