Please accept this nomination now. Mr. Carey has served on the Visitors Bureau Board of Directors since 2017 and would bring an institutional memory critical to the past and present issues, successes and trends facing the Bureau. He now serves as General Manager for Siena Hotel on E. Franklin Street in Chapel Hill and has long been a partner to sales staff at the Bureau, helping to secure group business, produce special events, and work with medical institutions on hosting long-term visitors who have family in local hospitals. He is a regular sponsor of events, and contributes to several area economic groups, including the Triangle Area Hotel Motel Association board, area economic agencies, as well as supporting arts and historic endeavors in Orange County. I can think of no greater way to do that than through advocacy and support of the Visitor s Bureau. This area has wonderful arts, music, nature, sports, educational, commerce, and historic experiences that make it a great place to both live and visit.
