BACKGROUND: TheEDD Transportation WodcGroup was an out-growth of the EDD workgroup that suggested land use changes in the EDD areas as well ae the designation M new EDD areas. The Land Use Gmup (2 commissionere from each boaN) had concerns that Ne Vanspodalion 'system was insufficient to address the full lmplementa4on of the EDDS. The Lantl USe Group felt they greatly benefited from the participation of the development wmmunity during the land use phase, and they wanted [het to continue in the bansporlation phase. To that antl, they sough[ wide-range padicipation from the public with knmvn inferesl in the topic. In etldttlon to the 4 elected oPocisls, 1 member from each planning boats, the Commission wrlhe Environment, the Chamber of Commerce, [he Alliance for Historic Hlllsbomugh, Economic Development Commissbn, antl the Eno River Associafion were Invi[etl. An area proPedy owner, a repreeeMe[Ne fmm Ayr Mount, a design professional, antl a tleveloper were also participants. Thelr primary focus ae the proposed edension of Elizabeth Bretly Road. Seven options were wnsitlered antl these are listetl in pdotlty oNer at the lop of page 0 along with "Additional Comments." The Work Group also developetl a set of "Other Recommentlations" listed on pages 6 antl ]. The Board is asked to review these when consitlednq requests for the 20W-2010 TIP tentatively scheduletl for a decision at the November 20 meeting. FINANCIAL IMPACT: There are no immediate financial impacts of this decision item.
