PURPOSE: To revise the Orange County Personnel Ordinance to reflect the Board's action
with adoption of the 2005-06 budget increasing the County 401 (k) Plan contribution for non-
sworn law enforcement officers from $20 to $25 per pay period effective July 1, 2005.
BACKGROUND: With adoption of the 2005-06 budget, the Board of Commissioners enacted
an increase in the County 401 (k) Plan contribution for permanent employees who are non-
sworn law enforcement officers from $20 to $25 per pay period. This agenda item updates the
Orange County Personnel Ordinance to reflect the action already taken by the Board of
Commissioners effective ,luly 1. The Personnel Ordinance change is as follows:
Revision to Orange County Personnel Ordinance, Article IV, "Employee Benefits"

9.4 Supplemental Retirement[401(k)PIan1Contribution
9.4,1 Effective July 1, 20045, Orange County makes a Supplemental
Retirement [401(k) Plan] contribution of $20 $25 per pay period
for each eligible employee,
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funds for the increase in the County 401(k) Plan contribution were
included in the approved budget for 2005-06.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board approve the above Personnel
Ordinance revision effective July 1, 2005,
