Proposal for Engineering Services - Task 2
Draper Aden Proposal No. R00592-204N - Task 2 Lump Sum Fee = $3,100
Draper Aden Associates (DAA) is pleased to offer this proposal for coring of the existing concrete
slab and sampling of the fill material under the existing slab of the Metal & White Goods facility
located at the Orange County Regional Landfill Facility on Eubanks Road in Chapel Hill, NC. This
proposal outlines our understanding of the project scope, tasks to be completed, assumptions
underlying our fee proposal, and fees for the project.
Task 2 DESCRIPTION: The slab will be cored and, through the use of a hand auger, samples
will be taken of the fill material under the slab in the area where helical piers are to be installed.
The samples will be analyzed in a laboratory to determine the physical properties of the material
in order to optimize the design of the helical piers being utilized to restrain the associated
retaining walls on either side of the slab.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Draper Aden Associates will provide a coring machine, conduct the concrete coring, sample the
material under the slab, have the laboratory analysis performed, and update the design
drawings as needed based on the laboratory analysis.
This proposal is based on an estimated 3 week period of activity from the initiation of the work
through the updated design.
FEES: The actual cost of providing the services described above will be based upon a lump
sum amount of $3,100.

DELIVERABLES: The project deliverables will consist of:
• Laboratory analysis for physical properties of the fill material
• Revised construction drawings as required based on the physical properties
determined through the laboratory analysis
EXCLUSIONS: Deliverables do not include digital source files used in preparing the
deliverables described above (for example, MS Word, MS Excel, AutoCad files).
TERMS AND CONDITIONS: The proposed services will be provided in accordance with the
conditions presented herein and an existing agreement between Draper Aden Associates and
Orange County Solid Waste Management.
