The process starts with local jurisdictions tlratting local hansporiation priority lists. Federal antl state reguletbna provitle for public input into the process. Orange Counry's transportation priority needs list has two distinct sections. One section tleals with seledetl proleds within [he Durham-Chapel HIII-Canboro Metropolitan Planning Organiu9on (DCHC MPO) planting boundary. The aecontl section tleals with prolec[s in the remaining portions of Orange County which lie outside of the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro metropolitan planning area. Orange County's hansportation priority list for the projects within the Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA) must be submitted to the DCHC MPO in November. (Please refer to the attached schedule for FV 2004-2010 Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP) Development Process.) The Tianapotletion Advisory Committee(TAC)will then holtlapublic input meeting and North Carolina Department of Traneponehon (NCDOT) will meet with the MPO in January or Fabmary to discuss the MPO's priorities. NCDOT has scheduletl a 2004-2010 TIP Input Meeting for DiNSion ] on October 30, 2001. (The meeting will be held hom 2:00 P.M. fo 4.00 P.M. at the Caswell County Historic Courthouse in Yanceyville.) This meeting provides an opportunity for public input concerning requesLS antl 'Wish lists" for all areas in Division ]. NCDOT antl NCBOT will accept written requests antl wmments through December 2001 antl the BOGC mould consitler approval in November. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None at this time.
