BACKGROUND: The Landfi1120012002oparating butlget calls for the purchase a new Hydreulc
Excavator (treck backhoe). Thia unit shall be usetl for loading white goatls antl scrap metals,
cleaning setlimerHAtlon pontle, mnstmdion of erosion control tlevices, antl general facility
constmdlon. Specifications were developed by ataH[hat met the Countys needs. The bid call was
atlvertisetl antl bitls were sclkited fmm thirteen ventlors. Seven bidtlers respontletl. Bids were
evaluated by stall. Beggs Construction Equipment, Inc. of Raleigh, NortJi Caroline submidetl the
lowest responsible bitl the[ wee responsive. Their bid was for a Case model CX210 at a net tlelivere
mst of $121,665.00, this indutles a 5 year power train wananty.
FINANCVIL IMPACT: Total met of this action, rf approvetl by the BoaN, would be $121,465.00.
Sufficient funtls are allocatetl in the Solid Waste/Landfll Operations FV 2001102 operetng budget.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager remmmentls Natthe BOdrd awaN the bitl to Interstate
Briggs GonsWdion Equipment of Raleigh, North Carolina in [he amount of $121,465.00; antl
