PURPOSE: To atlopt a Resolution of Appreciation thanking stutlen[e from the TREES Club of
Chapel Hill HIgM1 Schocl for the recycling work [hey pertormetl at La Fiesta Del Pueblo on
September 8'" and 9'", 2001.
BACKGROUND: Twenty stutlenis from the TREES Club of Chapel Hill High School
volunteered ]5.5 hours to La Fiesta Del Pueblo antl Orange Community Recycling. TM1ey
provitletl recycling services for attentlees and ventlars throughout the course of the hvc-tlay
festival.
TREES IS a club that is committetl to increasing awareness of environmental Issues within the
school community, focusing cn recycling on a local level, and wlminating on a larger scale by
oyanizing the annual EaM Day celebration.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommentls that the Bosh adopt a Resolution of
Apprecation thanking stutlents from the TREES Club for their service to me citizens of Orange
County through the recycling wmk they perfonnetl at La Fiesta Del Pueblo.
