PURPOSE: To discuss appointments to the Mebane Board of Adjustment.

Background, education and experience relevant to this board:
I am confident that my over 20 years of experience in land surveying will be valuable to the
board. Having a vast knowledge of boundary law and land development will be of value when
working with the board to reach decisions.
Reasons for wanting to serve on this board:
After being a resident of Mebane for 12 years I would like to see Mebane preserve its small town
charming appeal while
continuing to grow. As a stakeholder in the community I would bring to the board knowledge of
zoning regulations while listening to the interest of community members who reside there
Conflict of Interest:
I work under the State and County line Surveyor for North Carolina. If any project dealt with the
county line being adjusted I would have to recuse myself from those discussions.
Contribution to the diversity of viewpoints on this board:
Having a vast knowledge of boundary law and land development will be of value when working
with the board to reach decisions.

My background is in Management of MultiFamilydwellings. I have had the opportunity to study
areas of new development and provide information whether the surrounding areas could or
would benefit from new or revilatized Multi family projects. I curently manage 266 units in the
Durham Market.
Reasons for wanting to serve on this board:
I would like to give back to my community. In additiona, I want to broaden my personal horizons
in opportunities to learn.

While my history is in Multi Family I dont neccesasitly think that is the answer to aeveryting. I
brelive careful consideration needs to balance the needs of the community vs the needs of
possible occupants as well as what can be provided. I live in Collington Farms and belive the
commercial/retail areas have been a benefit to our neighborhood as a whole.

I have lived in Orange County for the last 20 years and before that lived in Hillsborough from 5th
grade through my college years at UNC-Chapel Hill. I was very involved in the theatre during this
time. I attended the University of Cincinnati and obtained a Masters in Arts Administration. I
worked for several regional theater companies in management positions. I have not been
involved in the arts for quite a while other than as an audience member, but I would like to be
involved again.
Reasons for wanting to serve on this board:
My expertise is with the management of business projects and strategic initiatives. I d like to
bring that knowledge together with my love of the arts to serve on this commission. I have lived
most of my life in Orange County and I m very interested in seeing the arts grow and stay strong
even with the political climate that will make it more difficult.

I have lived in the Orange County area of Mebane for 20 years after my husband and I bought
our home. I have a Masters of Business degree and a Masters of Arts degree in Arts
Management. I grew up in Hillsborough from the 5th grade through my college years at UNC
Chapel Hill. The fact that I ve not been in the building/develoopment sector will allow me to bring
an objective voice to this board and the hearing of special requests/zoning exceptions.
Reasons for wanting to serve on this board:
I think it is very important for Orange County to be represented in the activities undertaken by
Mebane and to join with Mebane to grow this area effectively and responsibly. This area is very
desirable for business and residents and we need to make sure development is done equitably
and with our common purpose.
