Members Present: Sharon Hill, Barbara Jessie-Black, Anthony Carey, John Morris, Kristen Young,
James Watts, John Anderson
Orange County Staff: Steve Brantley, Amanda Garner, Mike Ortosky, Travis Myren, Lindsey Hirni
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by John Morris at 11:55 a.m.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by John Morris and seconded by Sharon Hill to approve the minutes from the
November 13 2019 meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
New Business
Discussion opportunity with Deputy Manager Travis Myren
Travis discussed the current use of Economic Development Article 46 funds. He talked about the new
online sales tax that has been enforced; which will help increase the funds. He was able to answer
several questions that the committee had regarding the distribution of funds, ballet language and will be
providing the committee with the performance metrics. Travis also offered to attend a follow-up meeting
to take input& priority requests that he can present at an upcoming managers/budget meeting.
The committee discussed the status update for utilities and zoning in the Economic Development
Districts. There is a need for new sites moving forward.
Director's Report
Steve provided a brief update on current project activity and mentioned that there will be a couple of new
announcements soon. Steve gave a summary of the overall business recruitment activity and discussed
the other grant programs that are funded by Article 46.
Old Business
Presentation of Advisory Board Orientation Notebook
Amanda presented the new Advisory Board Orientation Notebooks that were handed out to the board
members.
Advisory Board Membership
Steve discussed additional applicants that are interested in joining the Advisory Board and he proposed
that the committed reappoint Paige Zinn for a final 1 year term as of June 1, 2020. A motion was made
by John Morris and seconded by Sharon Hill to approve. The motion passed unanimously.
