Open Meeting Board Minutes
Tuesday March 17,2020
The Orange County ABC Board held its regular meeting on Tuesday,March 17,2020 at 9:00 AM via phone
conference.These are the minutes of the Open Session.
Present: Keith Bagby,Chairman Pat Bums,Vice Chairman
Jane Cousins,Member Elizabeth Carter,Member
Mike Lassiter,Member Tony DuBois,General Manager
Ron McCoy,Finance Officer Angela Willoughby,Asst.General Manager
Angel Neighbours,Board Secretary Chris Willett,Beemer,Hadlenk Willett,P.A.,
Absent: Mark Dorosin,BOCC Liaison
Visitors:
Call to order: at 9:01 am, a quorum was present and Mr. Bagby, Board Chairman, called the
regularly scheduled Board Meeting to Order.All parties were present through phone.
Mr. Bagby read the Mission Statement: The Mission of the Orange County ABC Board and our
employees is to serve our locality responsibly by controlling the sale of spirituous liquor,returning
profits to Law Enforcement,Alcohol Education,and the County Fund while providing exce0ent
service in customer friendly,modern and efficient stores.
Mr.Bagby read the Conflict of Interest Statement.The question was asked:if anyone has a conflict
of interest with respect to any matters on the agenda?AB present said nay.
CDvid-19 UPDATE
Mr.DuBois stated there are steps being taken for the safety of staff and customers.
• Extra professional weekly cleaning of stores.
• Customers will scan and bag their own merchandise(self-checkout).
• Credit Card Machines no longer require a signature.
Future steps may need to take place.
• Limit store hours.
• Consolidate stores that are open.
Board Comments:
Mr. Bagby: Mr. Bagby would like signs for distancing at the checkout counters. Also, he would like
adpance notice for any changes made to operations.
Closed Session in accordance with NCGS 143-318.11 personnel matters.
9:18amMr.Lassiter made a motion to go into closed session,Ms.Caner seconded the modon and the vote
carried Mr.Lassiter teemed himselffmm the closed session meeting.
9:24 am Mr. Burns made a modon to go into open session,Ms. Caner seconded the motion and the vote
carried
At 9:26am4 Ms. Cousins made a motion to adjourn,Mr.Bums seconded the modon and the vote carried
