PURPOSE: To accept the annual report for Fiscal Year 2003-2004 from the Work Force
Development Board with a presentation by Board Chair Keith Norwood.
BACKGROUND: Orange County is a part of the Regional Partnership comprised of Alamance,
Randolph and Orange counties, The purpose of this partnership is to develop a skilled
workforce that meets the needs of local employers. The Board provides oversight for the use of
Workforce Investment Act funds and oversight of the JabLink programs including Orange
County's Skills Development Center, The County's representatives on this Board include Keith
Norwood, Cleon Currie, Shirley Caraway, Dianne Reid, Sandra Sanchez and Nancy Coston.
Each year, the Partnership prepares an annual report of its accomplishments and presents it to
the Board of County Commissioners.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact for receiving the report.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board accept the Regional
Partnership Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2003-2004.
