BACKGROUND: Wendv Lane: Residents of Wendy Lane (10 homes) in Mt. Willing's Summit Subdivision have petitioned NCDOT to accept maintenance responsibilities for Wendy Lane. Mt. Willing's Summit Subdivision, approved by the Board in 1994, is located on the north side of Mt. Willing Road (SR 1120) between the intersections of Mt. Willing Road with Chestnut Ridge Church Road and Holmes Road. Maple Ridge_Drive: Residents of Maple Ridge Drive (9 homes) in Tupelo Ridge II Subdivision have petitioned NCDOT to accept maintenance responsibilities for that road. Tupelo Ridge II, approved by the Board in 1997, is located on the east side of Union Grove Church Road (SR 1111) south of the intersection of Union Grove Church Road and Albert Road. NCDOT has investigated these requests (see attached Secondary Road Addition Reports) and has submitted the petitions to the Board of Commissioners for its review and approval. The Board must take an administrative action to approve the petitions to NCDOT in order for NCDOT to accept Wendy Lane and Maple Ridge Drive into the State Maintenance Program. FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct financial impact associated with this decision item. RECOMMENDATION(S): The Administration recommends that the Board approve the request to add Wendy Lane and Maple Ridge Drive to the State Secondary Road Maintenance Program. 2 d M XIJEa~ re ti r+:~ •0~~.
