Upon motion of Commissioner Walker, seconded by Commissioner Stanford, and unanimously adopted the following Intrim budget was passed. To General Fund $ 5,500.00 To Welfare Funds 520,000.00 To School Funds $10,000.00 To Recorder's Court Fund $ 500.00 To Health Fond $ 1,800.00 No action was taken on Mr. Carr's reauest concerning the hiring of twelve (12) new teachers or the laboratory equipment and improvement for Aycock School. This matter was deferred to a budget meeting. After considerable discussion Commissioner McDade moved and Commissioner Stanford, seconded said motion; and same was unanimously adopted, that it was the opinon of the Board of Commissioners that additional time is needed to study the requsted expenditure of $30,00040. The Board of Commissioners recommends that an opitlon be secured from S. T. Latta covering the land in question for a one (1) year period. It appears to us that within the prescribed time a bond election may be held to provide adequate funds to implement this school project. There being no further business this meeting was adjourned to meet again on Thursday, July 7th, at 8 p.m. Minutes of the Board of Commissioners July 7, 1960 The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session on Thursday, July 7, 1960, at 8 o'clock p.m, in the Commissioners room at the courthouse in Hillsboro, N. C. Members oresent: Chairman R. J. N. Hobbs, Commissioners Clarence Jones, Donald McDade, Donald Stanford and Henry Walker. Members absent: None F. Ross Porter and Charles M. Walker, Jr., members of the Board of education, were present and requested the Board give the Board of Education another hearing regarding the purchase of the Northern High School site. The Board of Commissioners agreeded to meet with the Board of Education within the next two weeks. Commissioner walker, moved that Henry Hogan be appointed a member of the County Planning Board. Commissioner McDade, seconded this motion. Chairman Hobbs called for avote. There were h ayes and 0 nayes. The motion was declared passed.
