BACKGROUND: Residents of High Ride Road (12 homes) and Rolling Meadow Drive (7 homes) have petitioned the North Carolina department of Transportation ( NCDOT) to accept maintenance responsibilities for those roads. High Ridge Road and rolling Meadow Drive were platted in High Ridge Subdivision, approved by the Orange County Board of Commissioners in November of 2000. High Ridge subdivision is located off the south side of Lebanon Church Road, SR 1306, west of Frazier Road, Cheeks Township. The NCDOT has supplied the attached Secondary Road Addition Reports, and has submitted the petition to the Board of Commissioners for its review and approval. The Board must take an administrative action to approve the petition to the NCDOT in order for the NCDOT to add Highe Ridge Road and Rolling Meadow Drive to the State Secondary Road System, and accept maintenance responsibilities. FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct financial impact associated with this item.
